Capturing a baby’s smile is hard to do. The memory of a happy, contented child will always be embedded in your mind, once you see baby sitting and playing around in a baby swing. This is pure unadulterated joy of simply being in place with the wind slowly running through her face. Playing in a baby swing, you can’t help but be caught up in the infectious smile thrown at you as she sways in the breeze, forward and back, giggling in delight and enjoying the sheer sensation of it all.

Every child should have one, and a hammock as well, though most parents, specially moms would disagree with that sentiment.

An advantage of having baby swings is seeing your baby fall asleep, apparently for no reason. Though this is not rare, the movement through the air helps calm the baby and preps her for sleep. Almost like the feeling she gets if she were on a hammock. This is not common for all babies, but this happens more often to babies who fall fast asleep as in a car. The rocking motion lulls the baby to sleep regardless of how much they would like to play.

A baby swing is a real treat for the baby. And when you have a happy baby, that usually means that you have a happy mommy.

Global warming continues to make significant changes in our environment. There would be times that you will experience extreme heat and humidity. Then suddenly the weather changes and you suddenly have a wild thunderstorm. All this is happening in just one day.

It sometimes can drive you crazy because these sudden weather disturbances have a great influence in our life. You don’t really know if you should bring a raincoat along (because it might rain) or wear your sheerest outfit (because it could be hot outside). The simple task of whether to keep your windows open or not becomes a big problem. When the weather is hot, I prefer leaving the windows open to let some air circulate but when it suddenly rains I have to close them again. Otherwise all sorts of debris gets blown into the house.

Fortunately with solar screens I’ve put a little balance into my life. These screens are helpful in deflecting the heat that enters our home when the sun is just too hot outside. The screen has microscopic holes so air can filter into the house when it’s a bit windy outside. But it prevents flying leaves, garbage and little animals from being blown into my home.

I was born with curly golden-brown hair, which gave birth to my nickname, Goldilocks. Actually, I like my curls very much since I never had to use curling irons or go to a hair salon just to get my hairs curled. I wear my curly locks with pride and my friends are often envious of it. However, like all girls my age, I still secretly dream of changing my looks. Unfortunately, my curly hair resists most of the products I use on it. True it is beautifully curled; however, it refuses to straighten up no matter what I do to it.

I gave up on the thought, until my sister gave me some hair straighteners as a Christmas gift. She said it was just for laughs but I know that she knows my problem and did this to help me out. I used it and was amazed by the results; my curly hair became straight and slick. The first time I tried it, my friends didn’t recognize me. I had to wave at them a couple of times before they realized that it was me. I suppose I’ll look very different since I lost my trademark curly hairs.

Don’t get me wrong, I still prefer my curly hair. It is fun to wear your hair straight every once in a while though

Our house has looked the same ever since we bought in when my wife and I got married. Honestly speaking, it hasn’t changed much over the past 14 years. Our living room is still the same living room with all the same appliances and furniture. Our bedrooms, kitchen, even our dinner wares are still the same.

There is nothing wrong with these appliances, in fact, since they lasted for 14 years, I can confidently say that they are durable. However, looking at these appliances for more than a decade made them lost appeal. So my wife and I plan to make a major renovation in our house. Since we both love those old western films, we opted to have a Wild West motif. We searched for a few San Antonio Texas Furniture Stores and looked in to their available furniture. We selected the store that we both liked and got sofas, chairs, and other furniture and appliances. We made it a point that they match well since even though they have the same theme, some items will not go well with some.

Now with our new set of furniture, the house looks completely different; it certainly feels like a different house and hopefully this Wild West furniture will last another 14 to 15 years.

We love going out on picnics and eating outdoors. My whole family would usually go out once a month on a weekend, invite a couple of relatives or friends along and would just got to a mountain park of some sort and just eat and talk and play. However, it became quite taxing to be doing the cooking beforehand then bringing it to the camp site as it may either spoil, or will not taste good anymore. Not to mention, for a trip like this it would always be better to cook on site and eat while the food is still hot. And of course, no food would taste better than some grilled burgers, dogs and slabs of meat.

Unfortunately, bringing our outdoor grill was out of the question since it was too bulky and big. Good thing we saw an ad about the big green egg Dallas. It is an egg shaped grill that is fully capable of grilling food and didn’t take up very much space. Now with this thing in the back of the trunk, we now plan another picnic during the weekend and this time we won’t be bringing food that was cooked last night; we will be bringing frozen dogs and meats. This will surely be a hit!

Monitoring and running a business can be quite troublesome. Especially of you are in the delivery business such as me. We handle deliveries in between ports and warehouses and we employ a couple of drivers and have a couple of big trucks. It is quite a lucrative business however it is also a big headache at times. There are moments when the delivery truck would be late for pick up and we have no idea what to tell the customers. I would just say that the truck is on its way and try in earnest to contact the driver, only to find out that he got lost somewhere and can’t find his way back. This kind of problem has cost me a lot of clients.

So when I discovered that I can put a GPS Asset Tracking to my delivery trucks and cargo vans, I didn’t hesitate. With this, I can safely track each and every truck and van that we have. We can tell our clients the exact coordinates of the vehicle as well as warn the driver if he took a wrong turn somewhere. It may be quite expensive but an investment like this will pay off in the long run.

I love having guests over. As a matter of fact, there is often a party at my place during the weekend. It can range from the simplest reasons such as a night out, to slumber parties, to movie marathons or something more formal such as a birthday or reunion. And being the owner of the house and host of the party I would like everyone to enjoy themselves to the fullest. That is why I often serve wine at the party. However, wine served in an ice bucket seems to be lacking. It is not as perfectly chilled as I would want it to be. Hence, I wanted to buy something to help solve this issue. I decided to look for a wine refrigerator since I heard from a friend that there is an appliance that can solve this problem of mine. He said that it can keep bottles of wine chilled and at a perfect temperature; not too cold or too warm.

First thing I did was search online. I looked at different brands and types as well as sizes and opted for a small one since I don’t have much space at home. Thanks to this, every time I serve wine to my guests, it is perfectly chilled, meaning my parties and get-together’s just became more fun.

At first I was at a loss; I never really got the point of such a crude activity. I mean what was so exciting about it; I find it none too thrilling and far too dangerous. What exactly am I talking about? I’m talking about tree climbing. You see it was with my uncle when I first encountered this hobby. Actually, he forced me to by asking me to accompany him somewhere. I was bewildered by the request but said yes anyway. You see, originally, this was my uncle’s hobby and he just dragged me to carry his stuff and drive him to the place.

Well, as curious as I was, I tried it myself albeit a bit hesitant since I thought—at that time—that it was no challenge at all. I was surprised at how difficult and how exhilarating it was and eventually I was hooked like he was. And since I can’t keep using my uncle’s gear every time, I had to buy my own. It is very important to have some tree climbing gear since this will serve as your biggest protection against accidents and mishaps. Now whenever I and my uncle go out to climb trees, I make it a point to bring my gear with me. I can forget anything and everything else; but I won’t risk my safety by forgetting my equipment.

Whenever the holidays come around, I can’t help but get excited. This is because whenever there is free time, my family would often go on a family vacation. This is something that we have done for years and as far as I can remember. Actually, it is my dad that actually pushes this plan since he believes that we should always have a time to relax and forget all of our stresses—or so he says. But quite frankly, I believe that the real reason is that he just wants to spend time with us like how his dad—my grandpa—used to do.

I know that when they had the time and money for it, my grandfather would often take grandma, my dad and the rest of my uncles for a vacation back when they were young. I am quite sure of this since there are a lot of black and white pictures to prove it. So I think being raised like that, he also wants us to experience that kind of fun with the family. I’m not complaining, quite the contrary, I love going on vacations with the family. We get to go to places that I’ve only seen or heard of on the television. But the most important thing is that I get to enjoy these places with the people I love the most—my family.

I simply love baking cakes for my family and friends. I have been addicted to baking ever since I was a teenager so it is no wonder why I am still hooked in doing this even after getting married and giving birth. It doesn’t matter what occasion it is or if there is even an occasion at all; I will use it as an excuse to get my baking pans ready and all of my cake making paraphernalia out of the cupboard.

The cakes that I usually bake are dependent on who I will give it to. For example, my eldest daughter loves chocolate so I usually bake her chocolate cakes for her birthday. My husband, on the other hand, loves caramel so his cake is caramel flavored. Unfortunately, after a while of doing this, I found myself getting bored with baking the same thing for them and this thought startled me. If I got bored just making them, then they are also bored of eating the same cakes. So I searched the internet and looked up some cake ideas that I can find. I hit a gold mine when I saw that I can make sugar flowers, or different types of icings as design. Now I need to practice making them so that next time, the cake I will give will look and taste better than ever.
